How to play roulette
The rules of roulette are really easy to remember. There is a wide a range of bets. This article will shed some light on the various rules of roulette French, British, American or Mexican.
The various bets
In a round of roulette players have to try and guess the number or the pocket the ivory ball is going to land. He can do this due to the numerous bets. Chips are placed on the table then the player places his choice of bets. You may place several bets on each Wheel spin.
Straight-up
A single number bet. The chip is placed entirely on the middle of a number square of your choice. According to the version you are playing, you may also bet on zero (0), double zero (00) and triple zero (000). Wins 35:1.
Split
A bet on two adjoining numbers, either on the horizontal when the numbers are consecutive (2&3) or vertical as in (2&5), when they are in the same column. The chip is placed on the line between these numbers. . According to the version you are playing, you may also bet on zero (0), double zero (00) and triple zero (000). Wins 17:1.
Street
A bet on three numbers on a single horizontal line e.g.4/6(4, 5, 6). The chip is placed on the edge of the line of a number at the end of the line (either the left or the right, depending on the layout). A bet on the intersecting point between 0, 1 and 2, or 0, 2 and 3 is known as trio. In the French or British version you may use the zero. Wins 11:1.
Corner (or square)
A bet on four numbers in a square layout 13/17 (as in 13-14-16-17). The chip is placed at the horizontal and vertical intersection of the lines between the four numbers. Pays 8 to1.
Basket bet
This bets varies according to the version you are playing. In the British and French version it is a square bet between 0, 1, 2, and 4. Wins 8:1. In the American version is a five number bet from zero – double zero and numbers-1-2-3 which pays 6 to1. Mexican roulette is similar to the previous bet plus 000. It is a six line and pays 5:1.
Six Line
Any six consecutive numbers from two horizontal rows so 25/30(25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30). This bet pays 5:1.
Dozen bets
A bet on consecutive numbers: the first (1-12), second (13-24), or third group (25-36) of twelve numbers. It pays 2:1.
Column Bets
A bet on all 12 numbers on any of the three vertical lines (such as 1-4-7-10 on down to 34). The chip is placed on the space below the final number in this string. It pays 2:1.
1 to 18
A bet that the number will be one of the 18 low numbers according to the colour (red or black), their kind (even or odd) and small (1 to 18) or big (19 to 36). The bet pays 1:1.
How the game is played
When the dealer says “place your bets” the round begins. You may then place your bets. Then he spins the wheel in one direction and the ivory on the opposite direction. He will say “the bets have been placed” this means you do not have enough time to place your bets. When the ball lands on the pockets of the roulette, the dealer will finally say “no more bets”. no more bets will be allowed.
