Wynn Palace opens in Macao on Chinese New Year 2016
The US casino giant Steve Wynn announced their intentions to open their second property in Macao.
With the name Wynn Palace, it will be situated on the famous Cotai Strip, and is scheduled to open at the Chinese New Year celebrations in 2016.
It will be built on a plot of 52 ha and will cost a whopping 4 million dollars, making it the most expensive casino to date.
It will feature 2,000 hotel rooms, a 11,150 m² shopping mall, restaurants, a nightclub called Climax, and a 8 ha large lagoon in front of the casino, which will itself feature 1,000 slot machines and 500 gaming tables.
The second phase is planned two years later, and it will increase the total expenditure for the establishment to 9 billion dollars.
Like all very large casinos it will also have a special feature to attract players.
The Mirage has a volcano, Treasure Island has a pirate ship, and the Bellagio has a water fountain.
Wynn Palace will have four Chinese vases from the 18th century.
These were purchased for 12.8 million dollars at an auction in London.
These are especially well attuned to the floral theme of the establishment.
Along with this announcement, Steve Wynn also announced that they are currently developing a casino near Boston in Massachusetts, worth 1.2 billion dollars.
