Vietnam to legalise online gambling for all its citizens

Last April we announced in this other news post that in 2020 Vietnam would have welcomed an entertainment complex featuring a casino within its national parks.
The project has been given the go-ahead from the local government, whose hopes are those of boosting international tourism.
In practice though, online gambling is still prohibited for people in Vietnam – a ban which is likely to be soon lifted, at least according to a bill that the Vietnamese government is currently working on.
Citizens who meet certain income criteria and possess a good record will be able to play at casinos in the Van Dan economic area, in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
Similarly, the bill would legalise horse race bettings, dog races bettings and football sports betting.
