Two Spanish Las Vegas competing

There are at the moment two different projects for huge casino complexes competing in Spain.
EuroVegas, the project planned by Las Vegas Sands, will be built in Madrid and Barcelona World, promoted by the Brazilian group Veremonte, will be constructed not far from the Catalan capital.
The latter project seems at a more advanced stage.
While EuroVegas is still looking for investors, Barcelona World has announced that three big investors are already committed to the project, namely outlet centre developer Value Retail, hotel chain Melia and gaming and entertainment company Melco Crown, based in Macau.
€788 million have already been gathered for the construction of one of the six amusement parks.
The park will house a 1,000-room hotel, a shopping mall and a theatre – it should open in 2016.
