The casino dominates the market for mobile applications

The analytical company Distimo has published a study showing that social casino games are emerging as one of the most popular categories of mobile apps, and their developers dominate the rankings on the App Store and Google Play.
The survey was conducted over a period of seven days, between the 17th and 23rd of March, and it found that 19 and 20 of the top 100 developers in the Google Play and App Store offered at least one casino game in their selection.
As this genre is becoming more popular with players, it is now emerging as one of the most lucrative in the sector of mobile games.
The developer Playtika, owned by Ceasar’s Entertainment, is currently at the top of the list, since it represents 21% and 22% of the market share in the App Store and Google Play.
They are followed by Big Fish Games (16% and 9%), Zynga (12% and 9%), DoubleDown Casino owned by IGT (11% and 9%), and Bash Gaming (8% and 8%).
