05/28/14
On Thursday, May 15, the Office of Health has announced that a smoking ban in the casinos in Macao will be implemented from Monday, October 6th.
It will however be possible to smoke in dedicated rooms.
These will be separated from the rest of the hotel, and they will be equipped with exhaust fans, but no game tables.
The Office of Health has also provided information on fines that are related to the anti-tobacco law.
We have learned that 2852 people have been accused of infringing some anti smoking measures after these had been implemented in January 2012.
1863 of them were residents of Macao, the others were tourists.
In the first four months of this year 95,265 inspections were conducted.
