Portugal plans to liberalize online gambling

The European countries that have liberalized online gambling within their borders are numerous – of note are Spain, Italy, and France.
Another country could soon joint them.
Portugal’s government recently announced that it is currently drafting a bill to open the online gambling market.
This measure would allow the state, through taxation, to bring in quite a bit of money. And this is a state that especially needs it right now, due to a sizable debt and a growing international economic crisis.
For the moment, the project is not yet very far along.
A taskforce will soon be created to handle this question; currently, no additional information is available.
