Miami World Resorts construction questioned

The Genting group wants to build a gigantic casino in Miami, as we covered in this post, but the construction of this project is questionable for some.
Indeed, a few politicians, indians from nearby protected areas, and several assoications try to sabotage the construction.
The casino should take up 13 hectares around Biscayne Bay.
This 52km lagoon is typical of Florida’s landscapes and is put in danger by the construction of such a big establishment, which is worrying local politicians and population.
On their side, indians living close to Miami are afraid to lose their monopoly.
Finally, several artistic associations are lobbying to abort the project.
The are worried the Art Basel Miami Beach, a highly considered art convention worldwide, could disappear if the casino is built.
On top of this, they are concerned Miami becomes the eastern Las Vegas, which would impact the current image of the city, recently transformed into a cultural and artistic capital.
In the end, the World Resorts Miami, that should originally compete with the biggest casinos in the world, might not even see the light.
