Macau still on the rise

Since 2011, Macau’s casino industry has recorded a decline in growth, as mentioned in this article and in this piece.
However, the gaming sector is now performing well, as demonstrated by the results of May 2013.
Casino revenues in the region surged by 13.5% when compared to the same month of the previous year, hitting $3.7 billion, which is the second best result of the year.
These good results can be attributed to the improvement of the economic situation in China, but also to a week of national holiday, which encouraged players to visit Macau.
During the first four months of 2013, there has also been a 1.6%-increase in the number of tourists visiting Macau.
