Macao’s growth slows

Last July, we discussed the excellent health of Macao’s gambling industry in this article.
Although recent figures show that this market is still doing very well, they nevertheless reveal a slowdown.
Basically, the growth rate has been in decline for the past three months.
This growth rate reached 31.7% during the month of October before slowing to 21.3% in November and 18.5% in December.
Although the official results for January have not yet been published, experts predict a growth rate of approximately 13-18%.
Whatever happens, the figures for this former Portuguese colony are still excellent.
It should also be remembered that, since 2011, the growth of the casino industry in Macao had already been in decline, as we mentioned here and here, before rebounding in 2013.
