Improved results for Atlantic City casinos
In August 2011, we mentioned, the difficulties encountered by all the casinos in Atlantic City.
The situation looks better now.
In particular, since the third quarter of this year 11 of the 12 casinos in the city saw their profits increase by 2.3%, compared to the results of the previous year.
Only Revel, which opened last April, posted a gross loss of $37 million during that quarter.
During the first 9 months of the year, the gross profit of the 11 Atlantic City casinos that have remained open during the entire period has been almost €454 million, which represents an 9% increase compared to the first three quarters of 2011.
These encouraging results are primarily due to the higher number of players attending the casinos and to an increase in profit deriving from non-gambling activities, such as restaurants and entertainment.
