Hong Kong citizens are the behind the success of Macao

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has just published a report that shows how Hong Kong citizens have played a big role in the growth of the gambling market of the ex Portuguese colony.
People from Hong Kong have spent the most in the casinos of Macao – far more than their Chinese neighbours.
According to the report mentioned above, Hong Kong citizens have bet over 23 billion of Hong Kong dollars in 2010.
This number has tripled since 2005, but it has been stable since 2009, when the total bets reached 22 millions.
