KG Urban joins a Foxwoods casino project
The development company KG Urban Enterprises, who are based in New York, wants to build a casino complex with a budget of 500 million dollars on the waterfront of the city of New Bedford, in the US state of Massachusetts.
To carry out this ambitious project, they have just signed an agreement with Foxwoods Resorts.
Foxwoods would take care of operating the gambling establishment if is was finally approved and built.
In fact, the project could still be abandoned, following recent statements by the Mayor of New Bedford.
A challenged project
The investor from New York was faced with a deadline set for Monday, March 16, to find an operator who would take care of the management of the casino resort project in New Bedford.
Through the agreement that they just signed with the Foxwoods Resorts Group, the development company has finally overcome a major obstacle.
Nevertheless, despite their recent agreement with the casino operator, the company KG Urban Enterprises sees their relationship with Jon Mitchell (the mayor of New Bedford) deteriorate.
In the late afternoon of Thursday, March 5, Andrew Paven, a spokesman for the New York investor, announced that the company might abandon their construction plans, after Jon Mitchell has demanded a redesign of the casino project site, as well as other concessions.
