A new Macao casino inspired by the Château de Versailles
03/05/14
This week, the first stones of a new casino will be laid in Macao. Called Lisboa Palace, the future establishment will be designed in part by the Italian designer Gianni Versace.
It will bring together more than 700 game tables, a space for performing weddings, and three hotels with 2,500 rooms in all.
The big idea came from the casino’s owner, billionaire Stanley Ho: the casino would be inspired by the architecture of Versailles but on an even larger scale.
Plans also include frescoes paying homage to the Louvre museum and the Monte-Carlo casino in Monaco.
This new luxury establishment should cost a mere 3.9 billon dollars, that is, 2.8 billion euros.
